Answer: Call our office to contract our services. We will determine which service is due and coordinate with all necessary parties to ensure compliance.

What are the requirements in my county?

Can my company be fined and may elevator be shut down for non-compliance with code requirements?

Answer: Yes, the adopted building code empowers the enforcing jurisdiction to enact these measures for many reasons, e.g. some jurisdictions levy (huge) fines ($2000 per elevator) for exceeding the frequency of required inspections. ASME A17.1, Elevator Safety Code recommends that the frequency shall not exceed six (6) months.

Answer: Your typed report is available 3-5 business days after the date of inspection. Contract clients can access any previous DEIS inspection report through our online archive of each building history of inspection.

What do I do if my report reflects code deficiencies?

Answer: 1) Determine which party is responsible for correction (elevator maintenance contractor or building owner/agent). 2) Correct deficiencies. 3) Call to request inspection.

How do I get my current Elevator Certificate?

Answer: A "clean" inspection report (no deficiencies) and other documentation (which varies by jurisdiction) is required by the enforcing authority.

What personnel are required to accomplish Inspection/Test requirements?

Answer: Informational bulletins describing services and procedures are available to contract clients after logging in or by submitting a request to our office by phone or email.
